($11-$12/hr, plus incentive bonus)

Who is TRUE Change Inc.?

TRUE Change Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that equips teens & young adults with financial literacy skills and emotional wellness tools to prepare them for real-world success.


What will the TRUE Change Marketing & Sales Intern be doing?

TRUE Change Inc. is seeking a self-motivated, resourceful, and confident prospect to join the team. The Marketing & Sales Associate will be responsible for generating leads, reaching out to prospects, and client onboarding. With the help of the TRUE Change Executive Team, we will work to actively seek out and engage youth-focused organizations and businesses in the Southeast. This is 12-week internship with the possibility of being hired part-time going into Summer of 2022. 


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Create and execute a plan to identify appropriate client relationships that support TRUE Change objectives and target audience.

  • Manage a pipeline of interested partners and engage the Executive Team after understanding the organization’s needs.

  • Work closely with the Executive Team to ensure proper marketing of events and programs to achieve the goals outlined in the strategic plan for the program.

  • Actively seek ways and means to creatively drive exposure and awareness of the TRUE Change program offerings and work to grow program enrollment and participation.

  • Provide administrative support to the Executive team in the form of basic research, engagement reporting, and other special projects as needed.


Required Qualifications

  • Self-starter capable of taking initiative

  • Exceptional writing, grammar, and communication skills via phone and email

  • Detail-oriented with computer knowledge and office skills, including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word & Microsoft Excel.

  • Ability to learn and become proficient at the use of a client relationship management (CRM) platform.

  • Familiarity and comfort with the strategic use of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn

  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage time, relationships, schedule meetings and stay on top of multiple communications

  • Resourceful problem-solver and attention to detail are key


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in sales, marketing, community outreach, and/or event management

  • Interested in financial literacy, mental health, and/or personal development

Typical Schedule

  • Virtual

  • 6 to 8 hours per week

  • Tuesday - Thursday, morning and/or afternoon availability 

TRUE Change Core Programs

  • Group Coaching | This curriculum-based approach takes a cohort of 6-12 participants, ages 15-19, through 12 group sessions where we discuss topics to help enhance their personal, emotional, financial, career development.

  • “Pull Up” Community Events | These events allow self-motivated teens to connect with young professionals in a casual and non-intimidating environment. Both young participants and parents will get a chance to learn about top-of-mind topics, develop networking skills, and build organic relationships in a low-risk environment.

  • Day in the Life | Participants will get a chance to have a one-on-one interview with a senior leader in the profession of their choice. Opportunities range from full-day shadowing to virtual coffee meetings and are created to give youth exposure and insight on how to reach their career goals.


TRUE Change Signature Workshops

  • Values To Vision | Students identify their core values, create a personal mission statement, and develop a planning process to support wise and deliberate decision-making.

  • Health & Wealth MAGIC | Students gain tools to help manage money, emotions, and relationships. M.A.G.I.C. stands for Mindfulness, Attitude, Gratitude, Inspiration, and Circle of Support.

  • 5 C’s of Connection | Establishing, building, and maintaining diverse and inclusive relationships are key to both individual and team success. During this workshop, we engage the audience to focus on enhancing tools to effectively connect with people of different cultures, races, genders, and life experiences.
