How It Started
True Change was founded by Kam Phillips, a former finance professional who stepped away from corporate life to walk alongside young people navigating life transitions. What started as a workshop series in Metro Atlanta has grown into a multi-state initiative serving youth through personal development, career exposure, and trusted group coaching.
The work began after seeing too many young people with potential but no roadmap. Many lacked exposure to real opportunities, consistent guidance, or someone in their corner to help them connect who they are to where they could go. Today, True Change supports students, interns, and young adults ages 15 to 21 through in-person workshops, a digital learning platform, and partner-led programming. Our team also equips mentors, coaches, and workforce leaders with the tools to build trust, foster growth, and help others take meaningful steps forward.
